The Barber

I know we are in the midst of the holiday season, however I feel the need to talk about our resident barber.  I always used to say….”Those kids who cut their own hair crack me up. My kids never did that.” Until Troy, that is…….

He has cut is hair on five separate occasions. The first few were so bad, even the chicks at the barbershop couldn’t fix it completely. He also cut the dog’s hair. Yes, the dog just sat there while he snipped away. When I took her to the kennel, they thought she had mange. Every time he had done this, we would talk about how he was going to stop. And then….

Just yesterday, I looked at his hair. Sure enough, he’s cut it again. But here’s the thing….he’s SEVEN years old. He’s in FIRST grade. I was surprised. I thought we were past this…..apparently I was wrong. I think I will let him walk around for a while with a big chunk missing from the front of his hair.  I mean, what’s the point of fixing it? Maybe this is how all of the future barbers of the world start out their lives.
